British Institute of Radiology appoints Mike Kirby as President-elect

The British Institute of Radiology (BIR) has appointed Dr Mike Kirby as its next President-elect. A long-standing member and former Chair of the Oncology and Radiotherapy Special Interest Group, Dr Kirby is an Honorary Lecturer in Radiotherapy Physics at the University of Liverpool and Honorary Lecturer at the University of Manchester. He is a Fellow of the BIR and member of several international professional organisations.

BIR launches National Survey of Radiation Protection Supervisors in Healthcare

The BIR’s Radiation Safety Special Interest Group is conducting a nationwide survey of Radiation Protection Supervisors (RPSs) working in healthcare. The survey seeks to understand how the role of RPSs is defined by employers, the resources and support available to them, and how their responsibilities are carried out in practice.
