On 7 September this year, global radiotherapy partners will unite to launch World Radiotherapy Awareness Day (WRAD), an initiative aimed at raising awareness of radiotherapy’s vital role in cancer treatment.
WRAD seeks to bring together international partners to highlight the life-saving potential of radiotherapy, promote greater access to this essential treatment, and educate both healthcare professionals and patients on its benefits and applications.
With the backing of hundreds of organisations worldwide, this awareness day represents a major step toward improved knowledge sharing, enhanced collaboration, and ultimately, better outcomes for cancer patients around the globe.
Keith Landmack, Chair, BIR Oncology and Radiotherapy Special Interest Group commented: “The BIR supports the WRAD objectives. We wish to highlight this highly cost-effective treatment for cancer.”
