AXREM is proud to announce the formation of its new Teleradiology Working Group, established to accelerate innovation, collaboration, and strategic dialogue around the remote reporting and interpretation of medical images.
The group will sit under AXREM’s establishedImaging IT Special Focus Group, expanding its remit to address the growing role of teleradiology in modern diagnostics, care delivery and reflect the changes I our membership and the welcomed addition of several teleradiology companies including EverlightRadiology, Medica, Medispace Diagnostics, RadConsult & Teleconsult.
As healthcare systems evolve to meet rising patient demands and workforce challenges, teleradiology is emerging as a pivotal tool to ensure equitable access to specialist expertise, regardless of geography.
This new Working Group will bring together industry leaders, clinical experts, and technology specialists to explore best practices, policy implications, and the integration of cutting-edge [GN1] IT solutions that enable remote imaging services across the NHS and beyond.
In addition to driving innovation, the Working Group will provide teleradiology companies with a recognised industry voice, enabling them to champion the vital work they do in supporting diagnostic services, reducing backlogs, and improving patient outcomes. This platform will help raise awareness of their contribution to NHS care pathways, while fostering cross-sector collaboration and representation.
The Working Group will focus on:
- Advancing interoperability and standards for remote reporting systems
- Supporting the NHS’s strategic goals for diagnostics and workforce agility
- Addressing cybersecurity and data governance challenges
- Showcasing innovative models that improve access, efficiency, and clinical excellence
- Elevating the role of teleradiology providers across the healthcare ecosystem
Sally Edgington, AXREM CEO said on announcing this development “Teleradiology is no longer a future trend, it’s a present necessity. By creating a dedicated Working Group, AXREM is reaffirming its commitment to shaping a resilient, digitally enabled imaging ecosystem while giving teleradiology providers the recognition and influence they deserve.”
We welcome participation from as many of the Teleradiology companies a possible, so we can create a platform for them to discuss their pinch points and challenges and for us to help elevate the important role and services these companies provide to the NHS. The inaugural meeting is due to take place in September.
