The AI and Innovations SIG is a stimulating forum for everyone working with and setting up information systems supporting radiological diagnostic or therapeutic practices. One of the aims is to explore how data can be better harnessed to improve clinical outcomes.

- The SIG continue to go from strength to strength and produced another excellent Congress in March 2026. Held in London, the event emphasised the challenge of scaling AI within real-world clinical settings, with sessions exploring applications in radiology, cancer care and chronic disease management, alongside critical conversations on governance, ethics and NHS integration.
- A new AI textbook, edited by the SIG’s own Christina Malamateniou, was published earlier this year. ‘Artificial Intelligence for Radiographers’ is the first comprehensive AI textbook for radiography.
- Do check out the AI Roundtable discussion, sponsored by GE, on Adoption, Orchestration and Deployment of AI within the NHS (available to members only). The discussion also resulted in an article, published in BJR: https://doi.org/10.1093/bjrai/ubae009
