Toshiba Mayneord Memorial Lecture

Toshiba REV 2016Founded in 1984 in memory of Professor W V Mayneord CBE FRS, Past President and Honorary Member of the BIR. The lecture is given at the UKRC Congress.

This prize is being generously sponsored by Toshiba.

The award is in the form of sponsorship to  attend the event, a monetary award of £1000 and a plaque from the sponsoring company. 

 2016 Award

Adrian Dixon 1

The 2016 BIR/Toshiba Mayneord award was presented to Professor Adrian Dixon, who is Emeritus Professor of Radiology, University of Cambridge.   His lecture was entitled “Has imaging become too effective?” and was delivered to a packed audience of radiologists, radiographers and other healthcare professionals at the UKRC Congress.

 

 

Professor Dixon has a worldwide reputation as an academic and a radiologist and has published extensively on body and musculoskeletal computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging and was one of the early pioneers of these modalities.

2015 Award


MG Presentation AllThe 2015 BIR/Toshiba Mayneord award was presented to Professor Muir Gray who is a Consultant in Public Health at Oxford University Hospitals Trust and Director of Better Value Healthcare Ltd.

The lecture was entitled “From quality to value—population and personalised imaging”.
