Sir Godfrey Hounsfield memorial lecture

Established in 1997 in honour of Sir Godfrey Hounsfield and his pioneering work in computed tomography, this lecture was initially endowed by Dr Marion Frank OBE, and subsequently funded by a bequest from Sir Godfrey Hounsfield. Nominations can be for a BIR Member of any age and discipline and the lecture carries a stipend of £1,000. The subject of the lecture should be an account of a major recent advance in radiology and its allied sciences and it is usually given at the BIR's Annual Congress.

2016 Stephan Achenbach

 The winner of this year's award is Professor Stephan Achenbach, who delivered his lecture entitled 'Clinical applications of coronary CTA - view of a cardiologist' at the BIR's Annual Congress on 4 November 2016. Professor Achenbach was also elected to be an Honorary Fellow of the BIR. The lecture can be seen online here http://www.bir.org.uk/education-and-events/annual-congress-2016/
