Nic McNally Prize for Cancer Research

The British Institute of Radiology invites applicants for the Nic McNally Prize for Cancer Research 2008.

The Nic McNally Prize for Cancer Research was established from the monies raised by the friends, colleagues and BIR staff in memory of Dr Nic McNally, who was a long serving Honorary Editor of the BJR and President Elect of the BIR before his untimely death in 1991.

The BIR is pleased to announce that this year the Gray Laboratory Cancer Research Trust has made a generous donation to the Nic McNally Prize Fund, which will ensure the continuation of the Prize for many years to come.

The prize of £500 takes the form of a travel bursary for travel to a conference in which the applicant is participating. The prize is awarded to a young scientist aged 35 or under who holds a non-clinical post and it is open to Members and non-members alike. The award is for original work in cancer biology or radiation biology.

· Brief career details

· An explanation of reasons for wishing to attend a particular meeting

· Abstract of the proposed presentation
